Inspired by the solo work of King Crimson members Trey Gunn and Robert Fripp as well as the rich atmosphere of modern bands like Tool and Isis, Project Metamorphosis pairs meditative reflections on solo guitar with artwork by Portland artist J.R. Slattum. The new album, Communion, explores themes of altered reality, self-discovery, and universality. The music itself is instrumental, combining riff-based architecture with ambient textures and drone. Communion also represents the culmination of a two-year collaboration with Portland artist J.R. Slattum, and features artwork adapted from Slattum’s amazing paintings.
